‘Cool swimming holes in BLANK,’ is a standard search in my Google machine so my trip to South Dakota was no exception. Fifth Water Hot Springs: An Epic Utah Hot Spring & Hike is An Hour from Salt Lake City
Uinta National Forest near Spanish Fork is home of Utah’s epic Fifth Water Hot Springs. The hike from trailhead round trip is around 4.5 miles - with the springs as the half way turn around point. You'll know you're near when you start to smell the sulfur seeping up from the spring that winds along the side of the trail.
